Using ProVerifier

If you’re selected for verification for the 2023-24 academic year, federal regulations require that we check the accuracy of the information provided on your 2023/2024 FAFSA before disbursing any federal aid.

New College partners with ProEducation Solutions to offer an automated verification software called ProVerifier. Your account with ProVerifier can be accessed through a tile on the MyNCF App Gateway at www.myncf.248632.com using your NCF email address and password. For new students, please look for emails  received shortly after admission labeled “Creation of your New College account, Part I and Part 2.” This will give you instructions on how to access the MyNCF App Gateway.

In ProVerifier you will be able to see what documents are required and how to submit them. Upon receipt of all required documents, the automated verification process will begin. You will be notified via email or phone if there are any questions or if additional documents are required. Additionally, any verification questions that you may have can be answered 24/7/365.

Tax Return Documentation

Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) — This can be a big help in speeding up and simplifying the verification process. If you can, please use it to transfer your IRS tax information directly into your FAFSA.

FAQs

The U.S. Department of Education may, at any time, select students for verification based on information they provided on their FAFSA. Typically, one in three financial aid applicants are selected each year, for us to request documents to review and verify that there is a match with the information you provided on the FAFSA.

Check your Student Aid Report, which is generated by filing your FAFSA. If there is an asterisk (*) next to your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), then you’ve been selected by the government for verification. You may also check your outstanding requirements in NewCleis in the Financial Aid section.

Also, if you’ve sent us your FAFSA (and you’re a current or incoming student), we send emails to alert you, and tell you what documents to submit. If you are an incoming student, your aid offer is highlighted “Selected for Verification”.

No — we’re not allowed to disburse federal aid until your documents are reviewed and the verification process is complete.

Please, — DON’T WAIT. It takes us time to review your documents, and occasionally we have to ask for additional items to clear discrepancies. If you wait to submit your documents, we may not be able to tell you whether you are eligible for aid before you have to pay your New College bill. Please submit all of the documents we request by March 15, 2023 if you are a returning student and by June 30, 2023 if you are an incoming student.

By signing into your ProVerifier account, you will be able to see what documents are required and how to submit them.

Please fulfill all requirements directly through the My NCF Gateway and the ProVerifier tile. New students, please establish your  NCF account and then look for the tile. Current students, please go through the portal and click on the ProVerifier tile.

Important information if your parents filed a tax extension: For academic year 2023-24, the FAFSA is based on 2021 tax information. Filing a tax extension for 2021 gave you until October 15, 2022 to file taxes. We are now past that date so please update your FAFSA information using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool if possible.

If we receive all of the required documents by March 15, 2023 (returning student) or June 30, 2023 (incoming student), we are usually able to determine eligibility for federal aid within 30 days. However, each student’s process is different and occasionally we must request additional documents to address discrepancies. We’re not allowed to disburse federal aid unless your documents are reviewed and the verification process is complete.

To help us serve all students as efficiently as possible, email us at [email protected], and give us at least one workday to check on your details and respond. Please include a daytime number and best times to reach you, in case we need to answer by phone.

We can be reached by phone at 941-487-5000, ext. 2. We’re also available for appointments (Monday through Friday, 8-5 p.m).
